Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the permitted and prohibited activities for users of eecrow. By using our platform, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Business, and all applicable UAE laws and regulations. Failure to comply may result in account suspension, transaction cancellations, or legal action.
Compliance with UAE Laws
eecrow operates in accordance with UAE financial, commercial, and data protection laws. Users must ensure that all transactions comply with:
UAE Central Bank regulations for digital payments and escrow services.
UAE Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) laws.
UAE Value-Added Tax (VAT) obligations, including freelancer tax compliance.
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) laws, where applicable.
Prohibited Activities
Money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, or suspicious financial transactions.
Using eecrow for any illegal or unlicensed financial services.
Transactions involving sanctioned individuals, entities, or countries.
Prohibited Industries & Transactions
eecrow prohibits transactions related to the following industries:
A. High-Risk & Illegal Businesses
Adult entertainment, escort services, dating platforms.
Gambling, betting, lotteries, games of chance.
Sale of counterfeit items, stolen goods, or unauthorized digital content.
Weapons, firearms, ammunition, military-grade equipment.
Narcotics, controlled substances, unregulated pharmaceuticals.
Services that promote hate speech, violence, or discrimination.
Illegal financial schemes (Ponzi, pyramid, unlicensed investment programs).
B. Restricted & Case-by-Case Approval Industries
Cryptocurrency & digital assets (Requires UAE Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority approval).
Marketplaces & crowdfunding platforms (Additional compliance checks).
Financial services & lending (Subject to UAE financial laws).
Dropshipping businesses (Screening required).
Jewelry & luxury goods trading (Enhanced KYC required).
eecrow reserves the right to reject transactions or terminate accounts engaged in high-risk or unauthorized activities.
Freelancer & SME Responsibilities
Freelancers must comply with UAE licensing and VAT regulations if their earnings exceed 375,000 AED annually.
Businesses must ensure proper invoicing and compliance with UAE commercial laws.
Users are responsible for their tax obligations. eecrow does not provide tax advice.
Prohibited Freelancer Use Cases
Offering unlicensed financial, legal, or tax advisory services.
Providing hacking, surveillance, or espionage services.
Operating fraudulent or misleading consulting businesses.
Payments, Refunds & Chargebacks
5.1 Payment Processing & Payouts
💳 eecrow supports multi-currency transactions, including AED, USD, EUR, GBP, and SAR.
💰 Payouts are subject to processing times and may experience delays due to banking regulations.
🔒 eecrow is not liable for payout delays caused by financial institutions or regulatory reviews.
5.2 Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds require seller approval and will be processed minus eecrow’s transaction fees.
Refunds are only possible if the transaction has not yet been completed.
Chargebacks initiated outside of eecrow’s dispute resolution process will result in account suspension.
Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
6.1 Arbitration & Resolution Fees
⚖ Disputes will be resolved through arbitration under DIFC-LCIA rules, with the seat of arbitration in DIFC, UAE.
⚖ A flat dispute resolution fee of $500 applies to cases requiring arbitration.
⚖ If arbitration fails, the dispute will be referred to the DIFC Small Claims Tribunal, with the buyer/seller responsible for legal fees.
6.2 How to Raise a Dispute
Users must submit disputes via email to info@eecrow.com, including transaction details and supporting evidence.
The eecrow team will initiate arbitration and communicate next steps.
Account Termination & Policy Violations
eecrow reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account found violating this AUP, UAE laws, or engaging in suspicious activities.
Severe violations may be reported to UAE authorities, financial institutions, or law enforcement.
